PCE-S 40 Stethoscope

The PCE-S 40 is a stethoscope that amplifies machine sounds. A stethoscope offers the possibility of detecting noises in bearings, in pumps, etc. In the field of mechanical engineering, it is used for preventive maintenance. It is a question of diagnosing possible breakdowns in machines before they occur. When you listen to a machine with the stethoscope, you can amplify noises that should not occur during normal operation. Between these noises we can find knocks and scratches that indicate that a machine has some damage.
The vibrometer is made up of little fingers, a tube and a measuring rod. The stethoscope detects noises through the measuring rod and transfers them to the earphones through the tube. The headphones have coupling elements that you can order additionally to replace them. These flexible plastic coupling elements make it possible to adjust them correctly to the ear and to soundproof them, which allows a very good listening of noises.
