The sclerometer is mainly used in the construction sector, but it can also be used in the industrial sector, for example, for checking the winding hardness. This sclerometer for checking concrete is based on Schmidt’s principle. The measurement is always carried out under the same test energy of 2.207 J (Joules). The rebound kinetic energy of the initial hammer is converted in the device to give a measure of concrete hardness, surface pressure or compressive strength (kg/cm² or N/mm²).
The quality of concrete is mainly assessed on the basis of its compressive strength, as this is directly decisive for the structural behavior and the durability of concrete constructions. The pressure resistance of the sclerometer is represented by a series of numbers and letters. For example, B 25 means normal concrete with a compressive strength of 25 N/mm². There are different intermediate values until reaching the upper resistance class B 55. With our sclerometer you can classify the concrete in a simple, fast and precise way. The hammer is delivered factory calibrated, but it is possible to request an optional ISO calibration certificate (additional cost).
