This Finger Impact Tester is a compact Shore A hardness tester, designed for measuring materials of similar hardness to soft rubber, elastomers or other soft plastics.
The finger impact tester uses a 35º cone-shaped punch. The punch is positioned 2.5 mm away from the bearing surface. In this case, the finger impact tester indicates the value 0. The measurement of Shore A hardness requires the application of a force of 1000 g (12.5 N).
It is necessary that the samples checked face at least 6 mm in thickness so that the measurement is done correctly. If the samples are less than 6 mm thick, the samples must be stacked (for example, 3 samples with a thickness of 2 mm each can be stacked at 6 mm).
