The viscometer works on a range between 1 and 100,000 cp. With an accuracy of <±2% FS, the viscometer is a precision instrument for determining the viscosity of a liquid. The viscometer determines the viscosity by using a mechanical resistance which acts in the opposite direction to the rotational movement of the spindle. The viscometer operates at an adjustable speed over a range between 6 and 60 RPM.
Many liquids are exposed to thermal loads and therefore change their viscosity, such as motor oils. This is where the viscometer comes into play. The immersion temperature sensor determines the temperature of the sample over a range between 0 and 100°C during the measurement. To obtain a history of the measurement, the viscometer can be connected to a PC via the RS-232 interface. With the optional software, a temperature and viscosity curve can be created during a measurement.
To ensure that the measuring spindle is always in a vertical position in the medium to be measured, the viscometer has adjustment feet to level it correctly. To check the correct alignment, the viscometer incorporates a spirit level. At the same time, you can adjust the height of the viscometer to 25 cm in order to place the spindle correctly.
